Our BIG Move!

WOW! The craziness of moving before a wedding is a little more stressful than I thought. What can you do though, right? I feed off stress sometimes...makes my life more exciting!

So let's begin with June 15th, 2011; Derek and I waited on our new front steps for Leon's to deliver our new appliances without even getting our keys...luckily by the time the builder came by to give us our keys and the final tour of the house; Leon's arrived not long after. In the meantime my mother popped by for a quick visit and Derek went and picked up his mother to help us unpack the small stuff we were moving ourselves. By the time we got started; we didn't get too much done but that's OK because Derek's mother brought over some hummy stew for dinner...she also watched Drayden with André while Derek and I went to Drayden's parent-teacher meeting...Drayden is doing AWESOME!
Our moving day, which intern I called the movers and changed it to the 16th and I'm so glad I did. Dropped Drayden off at daycare first thing in the morning, went to timmies and got coffee for Derek and I then went home for some last minute packing. Right on time...8am the movers arrived!!!! OMG it's happening...we are moving out of our first home where we made our life together with our first child! ...where Derek proposed. I have to say at the time I wasn't emotional...I had major times lines to be concerned about like picking our son up from daycare at a reasonable time with everything being done! So 3 movers (really nice guys) Derek and I packed that truck up in no time flat and headed on to our new home! Things were going smoothly...real smooth...doing good time and everything! I went to the bank and left Derek in charge...(cause really I'm usually the Foreman); came back and get news that the movers broke a ceiling fixture! :( yes it could have been worse but hey shit happens and it still sucks! Other than a few hiccups here and there...everything went well. Before Drayden came home we had his room set up and most of the kitchen...Our home was ours and we were finally able to sleep there.
We had a week to get everything out of the other home and get it all nice and cleaned up for the new owners. Derek did a great job! We also had a garage sale that was unfortunately too hot outside for it to be successful. Drayden put a little over 30$ in his piggy bank and I brought everything that was left over to charity "St. Vincent de Paul".
We finally closed the deal with a little bit of a headache from our buyers notary but at the end of the day it just didn't matter...it wasn't our home anymore. Drayden, Derek and I wrote our names with the date in the basement for memories...Time to turn the page!
