After a few weeks of trying to keep a secret from my husband…and
feeling guilty for doing it, I’m glad I did. It was so worth it. I planned an
all-exclusive trip to Cuba for Derek, Drayden and I. Even though we had a budget
of 100$ for each other.
So we decided with all the gift openings here and there that
we would so our own on Christmas Eve morning. So we woke up, Santa came…Drayden
was almost flabbergasted, so adorable. We opened our gifts, Drayden was playing
with his stuff and he was opening them and Derek was really happy with his
stuff (books, clothes, swimsuit, chocolate…) and then came his last gift. He
opens the box, there’s a piece of paper from Sunwing with info on it and Derek
was speechless. I had to tell him what it was because nothing was processing…Honey
we are going to Cuba, we are leaving on boxing day. Next year? He asked… Uh, no
in less than 2 days I said! Poor guy started tearing up with joy…He couldn’t believe
that I had planned this for all of us, including Drayden. “Holy shit, we need
to pack” he says.
Once packed we arrived at the airport…Bad weather
everywhere, all I was thinking is that our trip would be cancelled. Cross my
fingers until takeoff!
